Greetings from San Francisco

Greetings from San Francisco!  We left behind the land of snowstorm after snowstorm and arrived in a land of sunshine, long mornings at the park, and an important new vocabulary word: avocado (pronounced “cado! cado! cado!”).

Bridget and I have had a lot of time to get to know our new neighborhood while we waited for our moving truck to catch up with us, for Comcast to get our internet connection up and running, and for me to find childcare for her and work for me.

Without internet at home, blogging was impossible, so I’m late to celebrate 6 months of blogging at Reproductive Rites!  Below are some of my favorite posts from the last 6 months, one per month.

  1. Baby’s first political activism: Add one more to the list of public places I’ve breastfed: the Massachusetts State House…
  2. Walking the spiral: The kids all banged on their drums and shook their rattles, following me on the snaking path into the center of the labyrinth and back out again…
  3. What’s wrong with The Baby Book?: To me the name Cynthia Eller means academic books on feminist spirituality…
  4. Apple season: Yesterday we took Bridget apple picking at Russell Orchards
  5. Feminism: not quite dead yet: Oh, Stephen Prothero, did you have to?…
  6. Art appreciation for baby: Bridget’s grandparents were visiting from Santa Fe last week so we all went to the MFA to check out the new Art of the Americas wing…

I’m looking forward to discovering the next 6 months of blogging from the West coast!
