Lactivists, professors, and . . . oh my, that’s all I’ve got for you today. I’m sure that’s not all that’s new this week. The semester’s getting busy for me! What are you reading in your spare time? Or writing?
- Some lactivists are boycotting Old Navy because of a onesie that says “Formula Powered.” I’m not sure this is worth throwing energy behind. Some babies are formula powered and that’s okay. It would be another thing entirely if they were issuing the thing to every newborn at a hospital. (Confession: my baby’s never tasted formula, but I think this onesie’s actually pretty cute.)
- Religious Studies is thriving as a college major, says Newsweek. The article highlights UCSB where I got my Ph.D., and talks about different approaches to the study of religion.
- EDITED TO ADD: This link came from one of my Cherry Hill Seminary students. An AA manuscript reveals tensions over how much overt religion was to be a part of the AA canon.
